Are you passionate about using rugby and sport to transform young lives? Join Switch Rugby’s mission to create Active, Healthy, Happy communities across Greater Bristol and Bath. We’re looking for an inspiring coach and mentor who can help children fall in love with sport while building their confidence, resilience, and life skills.
Location: Office based in Hanham, with delivery across Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset, and Bath & Northeast Somerset
Contract: Part-time, fixed term until 31st August 2026 (with strong potential for extension based on performance)
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £11,440 – £13,325 per annum
Hours: 22.5 hours per week, flexible scheduling to fit around school delivery needs and your availability
What You’ll Do – Making a Real Difference
Lead with Impact
- Deliver transformational 1-2-1 and group mentoring sessions that build confidence and life skills
- Inspire children to embrace active, healthy lifestyles through engaging PE lessons and rugby sessions
- Create memorable experiences that help young people discover their potential both on and off the pitch
Build Lasting Relationships
- Develop strong partnerships with schools as their trusted point of contact
- Connect meaningfully with children, families, and school staff every day
- Collaborate with our passionate team to maximise community impact
Drive Excellence
- Monitor and evaluate your sessions to continuously improve quality and outcomes
- Ensure the highest health and safety standards in all activities
- Support Switch Rugby’s broader mission through events and administrative tasks when needed
What We’re Looking For
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year working with primary/secondary school and college-aged children
- UKCC Level 1 coaching qualification (or equivalent)
- Full, clean driving license with access to own transport
- Right to work permanently in the UK

Bonus Points For
- UKCC Level 2 coaching qualification in Rugby or Qualified Teacher Status
- Additional sports coaching qualifications (UKCC Level 1 or above in other sports)
- Experience in primary and/or secondary school coaching
- Experience in rugby academy performance pathways
- Mentoring or youth work experience
- Level 3 Paediatric First Aid or First Aid at Work (we can arrange training)
- Level 2 Safeguarding qualification (we can arrange training)
